1. In short
Motivation Quotes has no accounts and no server of its own. All quotes are built into the app. Your favorites and settings stay on your iPhone.
The app uses two outside services: Google Firebase Analytics, to understand how the app is used, and Adapty, to handle subscriptions. They receive technical identifiers of your device and information about purchases. They do not receive your name, your email or your payment details.
Developer contact: app.motivation.quotes@gmail.com
2. What stays on your device
- favorite quotes and the categories and filters you chose, as well as reactions to quotes left in earlier versions of the app;
- notification settings;
- whether you have finished the introduction screens;
- the last confirmed status of your subscription, together with the device identifier for vendors (IDFV), so premium quotes stay available when you are offline.
This data is not sent to us. Deleting the app removes it. Like other app data on iPhone, it may be included in your iCloud or computer backup.
3. What the app sends, and to whom
3.1 Google Firebase Analytics
Why: to see how the app is used and which screens lead to a subscription.
What is sent:
- events about actions in the app: buttons on the introduction screens, opening the filters, opening and closing the subscription screen and which screen it was opened from, tapping a locked quote, and the result of a purchase or restore (product ID, whether a free trial was used, and a failure reason such as "cancelled" or "no network");
- standard events that Firebase records on its own, such as the first launch, sessions and in-app purchases;
- the Firebase app instance ID, device model, iOS version, app version and language;
- your approximate location (country and region), which Google derives from the IP address of the connection. The app does not use location services;
- the advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allowed tracking (section 4).
The events do not contain your name, your email or the quotes you save.
3.2 Adapty
Why: to show subscription offers, process purchases, check whether a subscription is active and restore purchases.
What it receives:
- purchase and subscription information from the App Store: product, dates, status, free trial, refunds;
- an Adapty profile ID created for your installation of the app;
- the device identifier for vendors (IDFV), device model, iOS and app version;
- the IP address of the connection. To learn the public IP address, the Adapty SDK in the app sends a request to the ipify service (api.ipify.org);
- an Apple Ads attribution token (AdServices framework), sent once, on the first sync, whether or not you allowed tracking. Adapty uses it to ask Apple whether the app was installed from an Apple Ads campaign;
- the advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allowed tracking (section 4).
We link the Adapty profile ID with the Firebase app instance ID, so that subscription events can be matched with the analytics above.
3.3 Apple
Purchases and subscriptions go through the App Store. Your payment details are handled only by Apple: neither we nor Adapty see them.
3.4 Email
The Feedback screen in the app opens an email to app.motivation.quotes@gmail.com with the app version, the iOS version and the app language already filled in; you write the rest. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself from your mail app. Letters are stored in our Gmail mailbox, which is a Google service.
We do not sell your data. There is no advertising in the app.
4. Tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency)
During the introduction the app asks for permission to track. We use it only to see which of our ads brought you to the app. There are no ads inside the app.
If you allow it, Firebase and Adapty may receive the advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, they do not, and the app works the same way. You can change your choice at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
5. Notifications
Quote notifications are local: the app schedules them on your iPhone, and no server is involved. The app asks for permission first. You can turn notifications off at any time in iPhone Settings → Notifications.
6. Sharing quotes
The Share button opens the standard iOS share sheet. The quote goes only where you send it; we receive nothing.
7. How long data is kept
- On your device: until you delete the app.
- Google Analytics and Adapty: for the periods set by these services and by our project settings in them. We use this data only for the purposes described above.
- Email: as long as needed to answer you. You can ask us to delete your letters.
8. Your choices
- Delete the app to remove all data stored on your device.
- Decline or withdraw tracking permission (section 4).
- Turn off notifications (section 5).
- Cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Ask what data we hold about you or ask us to delete it by writing to app.motivation.quotes@gmail.com. We do not know your name or email, so to find records related to you we may ask for details such as the order ID from Apple's receipt.
9. Children
The app is rated 12+ in the App Store. It does not ask anyone for personal data, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child's data has reached us, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Where data is processed
Google and Adapty may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Each of them processes data under its own privacy policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
