CardScanner for iOS · Updated 2026-09-25 · Privacy Policy

One mailbox, read by the people who make the app: quicklysearch.bot@gmail.com. There is no ticket system, no chatbot and no account to sign in to.

Writing from inside the app is easier

Open the Settings tab and tap the support row. That opens your mail app with a message already addressed to us, with the app version and build, your iOS version, your device model and your language filled in at the bottom. Nothing else is added, and you can read and edit every line of it before you send.

If you would rather write from a computer, use the same address and tell us these four things yourself, because almost every question turns on them:

If a card was identified wrongly

This is the most useful thing you can report, and the most useful report contains: which game was selected, what the card actually is (name, set and the number printed on it), and what the app answered. If the card is not in our catalogue at all, say that – it is a different problem from a misreading, and it is fixed differently.

You do not have to attach the photo. If you choose to, be aware of where it goes: our mailbox is hosted by Google, so an attachment sits on Google's systems along with your e-mail address. That is a different path from scanning inside the app, and it is your choice, not something we need.

How long an answer takes

We would rather state this accurately than impressively.

Things you can settle without writing to us

Stopping the app from sending your photos

Identifying a card sends the photograph off your phone, to our server and on to OpenAI. The app asks before the first time, and you can take that permission back at any point: Settings tab → Sending photos → Withdraw. From then on no photo is sent, and the app asks again before the next one.

Withdrawing stops future photos leaving the phone. It does not recall a photo already sent, and it does not delete the records our server has already written. The Privacy Policy spells out both halves of that.

Using the app without the camera

Refusing camera access leaves the app usable: you can search for cards by name or number, browse the catalogue, and keep your collection by hand. Nothing in that path sends a photograph.

Deleting what our server holds

Write to us with "privacy request" in the subject. Read the deletion section of the Privacy Policy first, because there is a real obstacle in it: there is no account, so your e-mail address matches nothing in our database. We will ask you to prove the request comes from the installation you mean before we delete anything, and we will tell you what we could not reach.

Your collection, and getting it back

Your collection lives on the phone, inside the app's own storage, and it is included in your device backups. Deleting the app removes the collection and its photos from the phone; copies inside a backup you already made are governed by your backup settings and by Apple, not by us. There is no server-side copy of your collection for us to restore.
